Refund policy

Go Electric Mobility (PTY) Ltd stands behind the quality of our products. If something isn’t right, we are committed to resolving it fairly and efficiently in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA).

1. Returns Window (Change of Mind)

Our return policy lasts 7 days from the date your order is delivered. This aligns with the 7-day "cooling-off" period provisioned by the ECT Act.

If 7 days have passed since your purchase was delivered, unfortunately, we cannot offer you a refund or exchange for "change of mind" requests.

2. Eligibility for Returns

To qualify for a return (Change of Mind):

  • The item must be unused, unridden, and in the same condition that you received it.

  • The item must be in its original packaging, including all accessories, chargers, manuals, and protective materials.

  • You must provide a receipt or proof of purchase.

Important – Electric Vehicles (E-Bikes, Scooters, Go-Karts) Due to safety, hygiene, and lithium battery regulations:

  • Vehicles that have been ridden, used, charged, paired to an app, registered, or show any mileage/signs of wear cannot be returned for a refund due to change of mind.

  • All returned vehicles undergo a strict technical inspection before any refund is approved.

3. Restocking Fee

Please note that all eligible "Change of Mind" returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee. This fee is calculated based on the purchase price of the returned item and will be automatically deducted from your final refund amount to cover administrative and processing costs. (Note: This fee does not apply to verified defective items).

4. Defective Products (CPA Warranty)

In accordance with the South African Consumer Protection Act, all our goods carry a standard 6-month implied warranty against manufacturing defects.

If your product turns out to be defective, unsafe, or fails for a reason other than normal wear and tear or user abuse within 6 months of delivery, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund.

  • Reporting: Please report defects immediately to info@goelectric.co.za.

  • Assessment: We reserve the right to inspect the product to confirm the defect is a manufacturing fault and not caused by negligence, water damage, accidents, or unauthorized modifications.

5. Refunds & Exchanges

Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. Approved refunds (minus the 15% restocking fee and original shipping costs) will automatically be applied to your original method of payment. We may grant partial refunds or reject the return entirely if items are missing parts or damaged not due to our error. Sale items cannot be refunded for change of mind.

6. Shipping Your Return

  • Change of Mind: Customers are responsible for return shipping costs (non-refundable).

  • Defective Items: We will arrange collection or reimburse shipping costs for verified defects.

  • Lithium Batteries: Electric vehicles are classified as Dangerous Goods (DG) and must be shipped via a compliant courier.
